Szilvia Kadas, PhD is a designer, educator, and researcher. Her area of specialization is environment and community oriented, sustainable graphic design. She is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design and Digital Media at the State University of New York at Cortland, where she teaches Information Graphics, Graphic Design I & II, Visual Design for the Web (UX/UI), History and Theory of Digital Arts, and History of Graphic Design courses.

Kadas obtained her PhD in Human and Community Development at the School of Design and Community Development at West Virginia University and earned her MFA in Graphic Design from the University of Arkansas. In addition, Kadas received her MA in Art History from West Virginia University. She completed her Bachelor of Design degree in Visual Communication at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.
